Born at New Orleans, Louisiana on July 31, 1959 and studied at Berlkley, Boston. Around in 1981, Patches joined Quincy Jones' "The Dude" tour and in 1983 started as a member of great jazz singer Al Jarreau's tour for more than ten years. In 1991, he came to Japan for the Marcus Miller Project featuring Joe Sample and Lalah Hathaway at Live Under The Sky with Dean, Poogie, and Everette. Also, the following year, in 1992, came back for Live Under The Sky again for another the Marcus Miller Project which is featuring David Sanborn with Omar and Dean. When Marcus started as a solo artist in 1994, Patches joined tour with Kenny, Poogie, Nard, and Dean and visited Japan in 1995.
And then whenever Marcus has Japan tours in 1996, 97, 98, 99, 2001 02, 03, 04, 05, 06,
Patches visited with him, that is one and only member.
During Marcus' tour all over the world, Patches released his solo debuts album called "Blue Patches" in 1997
and 2nd solo "Penetration" in 1998 and joined some great aritist recordings, for example,
David Sanborn, Lenny White, Earth, Wind, & Fire and so on.
Patches also have some tours for Babyface, Diana Ross and the Supremes, and Rickie Lee Jones.
In September 2001, joined recording "Happy People" by Kenny Garrett.
Now Patches is great artist of 3 Deuces Records where Marcus is.
Finally 3rd solo called "Blow" was produced by Marcus released in Japan on October 15th and USA later.
Of course, Patches plays on Marcus' latest album "Free" and has Marcus' world tour in 2007.
